‘Engaging Young People in Global Issues’
Community development, non-formal education, research, administrative and office work, health awareness-raising, community development, environmental programmes, working with women’s income generation schemes, working with deaf and blind children.
UK organisation that works in partnership with grassroots development NGOs.
Placements run from July to September and from September to February.
Volunteers work with local development associations in fields of:
- teaching
- field work/research
- child care
- nursing
- adminstrative work.
In all the placements, the aim is for the volunteer to learn from their fellow workers and the community.
Skilled placements: DIA look to match the project to the skills of the volunteers.
Non-skilled placements: No specific skills are required, DIA look for enthusiasm and interest in development issues and India.
