Global Health Advocacy - Working for Change

May 28, 2010 by jennyhall

The FPH's International health trainees group has organised a one day conference for trainees in public health and other health-related fields who are interested in exploring how they can work for change on a variety of key global health issues.

During the day we have presentations from eminent professionals in the field from LSHTM, DfID and the Nuffield Trust to name just a few. There are sessions on advocacy around a number of specific topics ranging from climate change to tobacco as well as broader sessions on partnership working and the Millennium Development Goals and advocacy in development settings. The full programme can be seen here http://www.eventelephant.com/workingforchange/programme.htm

The conference will take place on Thursday 19th June at the University of Sheffield. Venue information is available here http://www.eventelephant.com/workingforchange/pages/EventInfo.htm

If required we have arranged very good value accomodation at the University for only £36 +VAT for a single ensuite room including breakfast. Accomodation info is available here
http://www.eventelephant.com/workingforchange/pages/Accommodation.htm.

The registration fee is £75 and you can register here

This event is not only open to public health trainees but anyone in a health related field with an interest in global health.
