Faculty of Public Health - Working in Developing Countries23/04/2008 - 09:30 23/04/2008 - 16:30 Etc/GMT The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) is committed to supporting the UK Government-wide strategy for global health. Through its International Committee the FPH has contributed to Lord Nigel Crisp's report ‘ Global health partnerships: the UK contribution to health in developing countries' and the Chief Medical Officer for England's report ‘Health is Global '. The committee hosted a successful session on ‘global health capacity building' and an international breakfast meeting at the FPH annual conference in Eastbourne in 2007. Public health capacity remains critically short in many countries. The FPH has the opportunity to advocate regarding this resource gap and utilise the skills of its membership in addressing it.
