The Academy of Medical Sciences is pleased to announce the launch of an exciting new Fellowship exchange scheme developed in partnership with the Daniel Turnberg Trust that aims to encourage and foster collaborations between medical researchers in the UK and the Middle East.
The scheme provides opportunities for short-term exchange of medical researchers between the UK and Middle East to gain research experience, learn new techniques and to foster scientific collaboration.
Grants will be awarded to early and mid career medical researchers and bioscientists from the UK to spend time in laboratories and hospitals in Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestinian Territories and for researchers in those countries to come to the UK. The grant will cover the fellow’s travel expenses and will provide the fellow with a subsistence allowance for a period of up to four weeks.
The aim of the scheme is to encourage researchers to visit and experience an alternative learning environment, we do not require applicants to suggest researchers with whom they might exchange. The Academy sees great value in global collaborations that promote the free exchange of ideas and opinions among scientists and scholars in all countries.
Applications should be made through Heads of Departments who will act as sponsors for the applicants. Further details of the scheme and how to apply can be found on the Academy’s website, linked below: www.acmedsci.ac.uk/p175.html. Further information is also available in the brochure attached.
