Announcing a new online journal, PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases Later this year, PLoS (the Public Library of Science), the open-access publisher of high-quality peer-reviewed online journals, will launch PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases. All PLoS articles are freely available online for you to use and share in any way you choose, and the copyright remains where it belongs-with the author.

PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases (ISSN 1935-2727) an open-access journal devoted to the world's most neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), such as elephantiasis, river blindness, leprosy, hookworm, schistosomiasis, and African sleeping sickness. The journal will publish peer-reviewed research on all scientific, medical, and public-health aspects of these forgotten diseases affecting the world's forgotten people.

With a group of scientists linked to the open learning web site on enteric pathogens, the idea of an online free access independent journal on infection in developing countries, is being launched entitled, Infection in Developing Countries.

The journal is intended to publish original research papers, research notes and reviews covering different aspects of human, animal and environmental microbiology and infections in developing countries with particular emphasis on emerging and re-emerging etiological agents, diagnosis, and epidemiology and public health.
